Melissa, 46

My mom's really beautiful and she has always valued beauty a lot − she won’t go to the mailbox without putting on her "face" first. Growing up with a beautiful mother, I never felt that I measured up. She always emphasized how important it was to put on makeup the right way, but I was always horrible at it. I was thrilled when my husband said, "If you’re going through all that hassle for me, don't bother." I'm going to encourage my children not to wear make-up; I hope they grow up realizing that they’re naturally beautiful.
