I work as a nurse at the local hospital in a small town in Holland. I knew at the age of 10 that I wanted to become a nurse. I started when I was 18. I love working with the elderly. I have a lot of patience while at work, but not at home! Beauty is something that comes from deep inside a person. I see myself as an inside beauty! I dislike my love handles, but I love my big behind! It’s a family heritage; my mom, my aunt and my grandmother had big behinds.
I felt empowered after reading the website for this project. I liked the idea of older women sharing what they think about beauty. It reminds me of a TV commercial of a very old lady who took all her clothes off: she looked good even with all the wrinkles. I will become a grandmother in September. My children are 20, 21 and 26 years old; they say I look damned good for a 50 years-young momma.
I am divorced. My mom died two years ago. It was an honor to take care of her in her last days and allow her to be with her loved ones. Now, after 30 years of taking care of others, it’s time to take care of Jane herself! I have a to-do list for myself, and a photo shoot was on it; opportunity knocked and there came Erik Hagen!
